PremierLeague: Leicester City vs Wolves

Having lost the ticket to the Champions League after a series of stumbling blocks at the end of last season, Leicester has a lot of work to do to head to the Premier League for the 2021-2022 season. Playing at home in the opening match will be a small advantage for the "Foxes" to aim for their first victory.

Leicester City vs Wolves

It seemed to have firmly grasped the ticket to the Champions League, but Leicester threw away all its advantages. They continuously lost to Chelsea and Tottenham in the last 2 rounds, thereby dropping to 5th place overall. With 66 points, the "Foxes" were only 1 point behind Chelsea and coach Brendan Rodgers had to pay a relatively expensive price. But anyway, the ticket to the Europa League is not too bad for Leicester. The important thing at this time is that they have to play more bravely next season. Before the English Premier League officially started, Leicester had a pretty good mentality with defeating Man City 1-0 in the 2021 English Super Cup. Plus winning the FA Cup before, Leicester have the right to be proud of what I achieved.

Last season Leicester scored 68 goals in the Premier League, just behind the two leading teams, Man City and Man Utd. Leicester's defense problem conceded too many goals with 50 times, the worst performance in the group of 8 leading teams. Just overcome this weakness, of course Leicester will be an extremely bright candidate in the championship race. Remember the 2015-2016 season, Leicester was crowned thanks to an extremely solid defense and a scientific counter-attack. Now Harvey Barnes has returned and along with James Maddison, the duo also performed well in the match against Man City, but the "Fox" will be absent Wesley Fofana due to a long-term injury. In general, Leicester's personnel situation is still quite good and they have reason to be confident towards the welcome of Wolves.

The visitors Wolves did not leave much of an impression last season, they only brought back 45 points and 13th place overall. This is a pretty bad achievement if you know that the goal of the "Wolves" is a ticket to the European Cup. In the last season, Wolves received 3 consecutive defeats in the last rounds, a sign of the relatively weak spirit of the visitors. The difficulty will be even greater for Wolves this season, because the veteran captain Nuno Espirito Santo has left and is replaced by coach Bruno Lage. It is not clear how talented the new coach Bruno Lage is, but one thing is for sure that Wolves need time to get used to a new style of play.

Last season Wolves played very weakly in attack, they only scored 36 goals in 38 matches and this was one of the difficult problems for coach Bruno Lage. In this summer Wolves played 6 friendly matches, they collected 2 victories and received 3 defeats. A positive point for the visitors is the return of striker Raul Jimenez, the Mexican star who was absent for a long time last season because of a head injury. The fact that this team has just added a fairly quality rookie striker Francisco Trincao, Wolves fans are expecting a perfect combination in attack with Raul Jimenez.
