Europa League: Man Utd vs AS Roma

Man Utd will host AS Roma in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final on Thursday this week. The two sides had not really good results over the weekend in their domestic tournaments, but both sides let key players rest. That shows the importance of the upcoming match and of course all towards the most positive results to enter the second leg match.

Man Utd vs AS Roma

Man Utd

Faced with an extremely annoying rookie named Leeds, despite his efforts, Man Utd still let the opponent hold in a goalless match. The 0-0 draw of "Red Devils" with Leeds helped them keep a clean sheet for the 3rd / 5th match and also ended their 5-match winning streak. However, in terms of form, Man Utd lost only 1/21 of the last match in all competitions. This is the first time Man Utd failed to score in five matches, in the previous four matches, "Red Devils" had scored 2 or more goals. Towards this match, Man Utd has 4 consecutive wins at home and 7 wins in 10 recent welcome.

At the Premier League playground at this time, Man Utd seemed to have surrendered in the championship race. Besides, the teachers and coaches Ole Gunnar Solskjr is also almost certain of the top 4. That means Man Utd will strive towards the title in the Europa League playground. Remember the previous season "Red Devil" had to stop furiously in the semifinals. This season, Man Utd participated in the Europa League after finishing third in the Champions League group and so far has won 4/6 matches in this playground. With the upcoming reception of AS Roma, Man Utd will have the return of captain Harry Maguire, defender Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay are all back after serving a suspension in a 2-0 victory over Granada. That win helped Man Utd have a third consecutive match to keep a clean sheet in the Europa League.

AS Roma

AS Roma have recently fallen dramatically and the last 2-3 defeat against the struggling team in the relegation group Cagliari has said all about their last series. AS Roma are less charming in their pursuit of a Champions League spot in Serie A and their only hope next season seems to depend on their Europa League performance. In fact, AS Roma started the season not bad, during the first leg they were constantly chasing the leading group. However, the more weaknesses in terms of force were revealed later, especially when coach Paulo Fonseca and his teachers had to divide the European playground.

Currently on the Serie A BXH, the visitors are ranked 7th after bringing 55 points through 33 rounds. Although they have scored in all of their last 5 matches, AS Roma have not won in their last 4 debut. They only scored more than 1 goal in 1/5 of the last match and went to this match with two consecutive defeats. However, in the last 6 matches in the Europa League, AS Roma are unbeaten with 5 wins. AS Roma have 3 consecutive victories in the Europa League and have both scored two goals in each match. As a result, AS Roma did not lose in the last 6 matches in the Europa League. However, meeting Man Utd has never been an easy challenge, as AS Roma only won 1 and lost 5 after 7 encounters with the English team in the past.
